One of the biggest stars of the NBA could be on the move this offseason. Recently, reports appeared that James Harden is not communicating with the Houston Rockets’ ownership or management for two weeks.
Later, it was reported that Harden is committed to stay in Houston. However, former NBA champion and Kendrick Perkins, who was Harden’s teammate in Oklahoma City, thinks that the Rockets superstar will leave the team.
The reason behind that is that the team’s owner Tilman Fertitta did not consult with The Beard before making key appointments after head coach Mike D’Antoni and general manager Daryl Morey both left the Rockets.
“Tilman Fertitta is really dropping the ball right now. James and Russ are not happy. I talked to reliable sources and I told them I won’t mention their name today but James and Russ are not happy,” Perkins said on ESPN’s The Jump.
“James have not been answering the phone for the ownership, front office or even coach Silas for about two weeks now. Russell Westbrook is not happy. The reason why is cause they don’t feel included in the process. The front office, the owner they’re not including them in decision making. And news flash your franchise players got to know what’s going on.
“Tilman Fertitta, it’s common sense, it’s not rocket science. But for some people common sense is not that damn common.”
Perkins later expanded on his quotes via a tweet. “Did Russ Westbrook ask for a trade today?! I told y’all today that Russ and James weren’t happy with the Rockets organization…btw James will be headed out next! Carry on…,” he tweeted.
It has been reported that Harden named three teams that he would like to join if he was to leave Houston. They are the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers. Daryl Morey is now working in the front office in Philadelphia.
