Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he was not happy at half time against West Brom even though his Leicester City side were already 3-0 up.

Leicester made a brilliant start against a below-par West Brom side at The King Power Stadium.

Jamie Vardy had not scored for two months before this game, but he ended that barren run on Thursday night. Timothy Castagne squared it for the forward who made no mistake from inside the area.

The Foxes doubled their advantage three minutes later. Jonny Evans headed the ball home past Sam Johnstone to get on the scoresheet against his former club.

The game was all but won before the break as Kelechi Iheanacho made it three to continue his superb run of form.

Vardy was the provider this time as he did brilliantly before he laid it off to his strike partner who smashed the ball into the net.

Leicester kept their 3-0 lead intact in the second half as they picked up a valuable three points. They are now four points ahead of Chelsea and West Ham. The London duo along with Liverpool all dropped points in their latest games.

As cited by BBC Sport, Rodgers suggested post-match that he is not thinking about the teams around Leicester as they hope to secure a top four spot:

“It was a good win, any win is a big win,” Rodgers said. “Our intensity was really good in the first half hour. I wasn’t happy at half time as our passing wasn’t good enough.

“I am not thinking about the other teams, we have to think about ourselves. We can only control ourselves.

“Jamie Vardy has done it throughout his career and Kelechi Iheanacho is now showing his qualities – he can still improve as he is still making too many mistakes, but he is getting in there.

“This group will sometimes lose games but they are so honest and they want to be better. When you have that it is the dream ticket. It is all you can ask for as a coach.”
